Traveling has never been more stressful than it is nowadays, especially for people who hardly appreciate the emergence of useful travel apps which work with smartphones, tablets or iPads. For instance, cancelled or delayed flights are key issues which affect everyone in the modern travel and tourism industry nowadays, but these apps help ease the burden and makes traveling more manageable.

Whether you’re traveling to a local destination or abroad, there are myriad travel apps which you cannot leave home without since they help ensure that you get to where you want to be safely, quickly and cheaply. So, before you leave home, it’s highly recommended that you load your smartphone or tablet with the following expedient travel apps.

PACKING PRO

If you hate packing, then this is definitely an indispensable travel app for you. Packing Pro enables you to make a list of things that you must pack for your journey, especially if you’re planning a family or a group travel. All you need to do is enter the number of people who’ll be traveling with you and the app will suggest you what you need to take depending on personal preferences and weather among other things.

TRIPIT

There is no better way to keep your travel plans together than with this travel app. Tripit is basically a great application for travel which can be installed in your iPhone, Android, iPad, Blackberry or Windows mobile device. It helps create a simple trip itinerary by sorting your confirmations into a complete travel planner with reminders.  I was in London last week for the Spurs match and Tripit automatically scanned my confirmation email from Paddington Court Rooms and added it to my itinerary.  It was really awesome and super helpful.

GOGOBOT

The best way to make your travel more remarkable is if you have a list of things to do at each destination. Fortunately, Gogobot, another useful travel app for android and iPhone helps you come up with such a list more effectively. This can be attributed to the fact that this app creates the list for you based on recommendations from friends or relatives who travel like you.

GOOGLE MAPS

Getting rid of the stress of having to figure out how to get to where you need to go can be accomplished with Google Maps. Unlike GPS, this travel app is easy to use, beautiful, accurate and more so it’s free to download.  However, you will need access to the internet to use this app.  A good secondary option is an app called MapsWithMe that allows you to download offline maps for countries.

TRIPLINGO

If you would like to memorize commonly used phrases and their pronunciations or even a few colloquialisms used in Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German and other internationally recognized languages, then you should consider installing this travel app. TripLingo is basically a translation app with features such as a phonetic pronunciation guide.
