Top 5 things to do in Costa Rica!

Costa Rica is a beautiful country with tons of activities. The food is easy on the stomach and getting around doesn’t require much work. With so much to do and not a lot of time, I’d recommend one of the Costa Rica family vacation packages.

Here our my top 5 things to do in Costa Rica!

1) Learn to Surf!

Costa Rica is a surfing mecca. Surfers from around the world travel far and wide just to ride the famous waves. Salsa Brava in Puerto Viejo is a massive reef break that cold hold double overhead waves when the swells are right. However if you’re just learning I recommend heading to Dominical for beginner friendly waves.

2) Tour a coffee plantation

Coffee is growing practically everywhere in Costa Rica. It’d be a shame to miss out on learning about this beautiful plant at one of the many plantations. Come for a tour or even stay at a coffee plantation for a few weeks learning the trade.

3) Explore the art in San Jose

Most people get to costa Rica and quickly leave San Jose. Last time I was there we ended up finding a cool neighborhood near the university which was home to tons and tons of street art. After exploring the food and art we felt like we knew the country and it’s people so much more! Don’t skip San Jose!

4) Zipline in the jungle

Which so much old growth forest in Costa Rica, it’s be a shame to miss out on seeing the forest from a birds eye view. If you’re scared of heights you might want to sit this one out. Lots of zipline tours are super high in the trees!

5) Climb a volcano

Costa Rica is very diverse geographically and biologically. You can wake up in a big city, surf before lunch, do a zip line tour in the afternoon and then eat dinner at the base of a volcano by the evening. While in Costa Rica, I recommend taking full advantage of your surroundings. What better way than by going somewhere man isn’t supposed to go! On top of a volcano!
