The Dublin Fashion Festival Preview
This year’s Dublin fashion show will be launched by presenter Laura Whitmore and is set to showcase various events for the fashion conscious. Over 250 retailers, restaurants and hotels will be taking part over the course of four days therefore accommodation may be necessary for those who want to experience the entirety of Dublin Fashion Festival. You can find a hotel to suit your budget through Hotel Direct and flights are available from all over the UK to the nearby Dublin Airport.
A great event
Now in its fourth year, the Dublin Fashion Festival is an exciting mix of shopping, events and showcases; all designed to inspire your innate fashion sense. Festival previews include Kilkenny Girl’s Night Out where you and your friends will be treated to a night of pampering, freebies and vouchers, all without cost. There is also Irish Designers Create which will showcase the work from thirteen Irish designers in a pop up installation. On Thursday 5th September, you can enjoy a variety of events, each with their own unique style. There is the Pampering Bus for those who love to pamper themselves, the DFF Street Fashion Shows which are shows held by the festival’s leading retailers and there is a sneak peak from the latest Colin Horgan collection. In addition, there is the Mad Hatter’s Party, the Stylathon where you and your friends can be judged on your street style, and the Samsung Young Designer Event for budding young fashion designers.
Strike a pose
On Friday, the Pampering Bus, the Stylathon and the DFF Street Fashion Shows are back, along with the Creative Quarter Fashion Show which will showcase designs from a variety of designers. You and your friends can be models for a day with the Strike a Pose event on Saturday 7th September and you can also enjoy a makeover while watching the latest fashion shows with the Appletiser Stylefix event. Brendan Courtney will host a series of 20 minute workshops on how to style yourself on a budget, while the latest Arnotts menswear collection will be showcased at Man About Town at Arnotts. There is also be workshops for children with the Kid’s Dress Up Box event and there are LA Creative Styling Workshops for those who want to learn about fashion.
A varied line-up
There will be a fashion themed film screening on Sunday 8th September with the Galaxy Girl’s Night Out event and the Kid’s Dress Up Box is back, along with the Pampering Bus and DFF Strike a Pose. Tickets for these events are currently on sale and prices vary. Several retailers will take part in this year’s festival including Brown Thomas & BT2, Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Powerscourt Centre, Arnotts, Clery’s, Ilac Shopping Centre (including Debenhams), Jervis Shopping Centre & Penney’s. The event is brought to you by Dublintown, an entity of the not-for-profit organisation Dublin City Business Improvement which works with businesses and retailers to establish a strong events calendar for Dublin.
