How to Stay Cool in Hot, Exotic Destinations
Most exotic locations are characterized by very warm climatic conditions which can be a problem to most people visiting these places. For you to enjoy your stay in these locations, it is important that you equip yourself with tips on how to stay cool in hot, exotic destinations and have fun. My favorite way to stay cool is to just book the best luxury hotels in a given destination. Like most people, that isn’t always an option because of budget, so here are some other ways of staying cool:
WEAR LOOSE-FITTING LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING
Before you go for a vacation or holiday to a hot exotic location it is important that you pack loose fitting clothing preferably light colored clothes. Loose fitting clothing made of cotton will allow air to circulate freely and also allow you to be more comfortable. When compared to darker clothing, light colored clothes do not attract heat thus leaves you feeling cool.
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
The best way to keep cool in hot conditions is to drink plenty of water. Water helps you stay hydrated and protects your skin from effects of the scotching sun. The best way to do this is by drinking small amounts of water frequently rather than drinking lots of it once. This therefore means that you should have a bottle of clean water with you always as some places do not have clean water.
AVOID DRINKING ALCOHOL OR DRINKS THAT CONTAIN CAFFEINE
Drinking alcohol or caffeine will increase dehydration. Instead of drinking these drinks you are advised to drink water and other fluids for example fruit juices and energy drinks that contain no caffeine.
TAKE A REGULAR COLD BATH
Bathing regularly using cold or cool water will help keep you cool. Whenever you feel hot, you can take a cold bath or simply take a swim in a cold water swimming pool.
CARRY WITH YOU A PORTABLE, BATTERY-POWERED FAN
Some people find it easy to carry around a battery powered fan. These gadgets come in handy in situations where the heat is too much and you just need some fanning. Visit your local electronic store and grab a portable fan it will be helpful in certain situations.
SIMPLY STAY INDOORS
When the heat is too much you can stay indoors and avoid direct sunlight. By doing this you will not only keep yourself cool but also protect your skin from direct contact with the scotching sun. You can also engage in fewer physical activities as too much exercise will increase dehydration through sweating.
WEAR BANDANAS
This is one of the cheapest ways of staying cool in hot temperatures. You can wear a bandana around your forehead or neck and this will go a long way in keeping you cool. You can make it better by making the bandana wet before tying it around the neck or forehead.
