Spa Hotels: The Right Relaxation Remedy
We all have those days when we get home from work feeling totally swamped and with muscle aches all over. Aching limbs, backs and muscles affect a majority of adults whether or not they engage in heavy or strenuous activities. Unfortunately, only a few of these people apply the right methods to treat this problem.
A visit to a spa hotel can change an individual’s viewpoint for good and for the better. Here you can get many forms of treatment for your paining muscles. Massage therapy is a common form of relaxing people’s muscles to deal with tension and to improve their overall wellbeing.
There are different types of massage therapy that are offered in spa hotels:
Ayurvedic massage
This is a type of natural therapy that originates from India, and is called Abhyangha. This system of health care combines yoga, herbal treatments, meditation and massage. Here a therapist or two uses on a patient, a blend of herbal oils that are heated.
Breema massage
This type of therapy is usually done with a patient lying flat on the floor. The patient need not necessarily be undressed and they can be fully clothed. Leans and stretches that are gentle and rhythmical are performed by a therapist on the recipient.
Bowen therapy
This type of massage therapy claims to restore flow in the lymph nodes back to normalcy as well as providing relief to straining and tension in the muscles. It entails rolling movements in a joint, muscle, tendon or ligament. Any contact that is deep or prolonged is not evident as is the case in other types of massage.
Balinese massage
In spa hotels, this type of massage therapy seeks to relax and calm patients down. Skin may be kneaded, folded or stroked; including other techniques depending on the skill and experience of the therapist for example, aromatherapy and Balinese hot stones.
Acupressure massage
This type of therapy combines acupuncture and pressure and originates from ancient China. Hands, elbows or various other devices are used to apply pressure to various points on the body.
Barefoot deep tissue massage
This particular massage therapy may also be referred to as barefoot sports massage or barefoot compressive deep tissue massage. It blends some techniques from the East for example Shiatsu, and others from the West. Some styles that are incorporated include deep tissue shear, tension, compressing, therapies on trigger points, release on myofascia, transverse fiction, stretching and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). This form of therapy may be included in the training programs of many athletes.
