Torremolinos has long had a reputation for its lively bars and clubs, making it a haven for night owls who are after sun, sea and sand by day and vibrant bars after dark. But just what can you expect in Torremolinos and which night spots should you be sure to visit?

To help you plan your night-time antics, we’ve come up with a brief guide to Torremolinos’s nightlife, giving you an idea of exactly what to expect. Of course, not every part of the town is pumping after the sun goes down, with this Costa del Sol destination also frequented by families. So, you need to make sure you head to the right areas – one of which is La Nogalera.

It’s renowned for its selection of bars, pubs and clubs and boasts a very laidback atmosphere. What makes it really stand out, though, is its gay-friendly stance and as a result you can expect to meet an eclectic range of people if you go on a night out here.

Pueblo Blanco is another district that comes alive after dark, but it’s not quite as vibrant as nearby La Nogalera. There are still plenty of bars and clubs here for you to discover, as well as some with charming outdoor terraces where you can enjoy the balmy evenings with a chilled glass of wine or a tasty cocktail.

Beachside bars

While there’s lots in the centre of the resort, you don’t need to head into town if you want to dance the night away. Book a Torremolinos hotel that’s close to the beach and you’ll be within easy reach of several clubs and bars that are located right next to the sand. Among them is the Chiringuito Beach Club at Playa Miguel and the aptly-named The Beach.

It’s worth pointing out that many of the hotels along the seafront have beach bars that are open to the public, as well as their guests, so while you’re sunbathing in the day, scope out the various establishments on offer and decide where to visit when night falls.

Clubs

Torremolinos is home to plenty of clubs that are open into the small hours of the morning, with many of these located on the main street of Calle Mallorca. The Palladium is one of the most exciting, as it features a swimming pool, lasers and three floors of entertainment. Guest DJs regularly take to the decks at this club and, as it has three floors, there’s always something to suit your musical tastes.

Fun Beach is another night spot worth visiting. It too has a pool and the staff are all kitted out to use it (as they’re typically dressed in swimwear) and they encourage the customers to jump in. One of the things that makes this such a great place for an evening out is that it regularly hosts games that are bound to get you into the spirit of things.

For something a little different, head to Eugenio’s Disco and Piano Bar in La Nogalera. This club is renowned for its cabaret shows, although it’s got a large club where everyone can dance the night away once the entertainment is over.

One final place to consider if you’d like to experience an authentic slice of Spanish culture is Taberna Pepe Lopez, an establishment dedicated to that famous local tradition of flamenco. Dancers and musicians put on elaborate shows every evening, and it’s not to be missed if you want to go home feeling as though you’ve seen a bit of the ‘real’ Spain.
